Barry University
- Treasure Coast site offers graduate and undergraduate degree programs
designed for working adults. The undergraduate programs include
Administration, Public Administration, Behavior Sciences, Psychology,
Legal Studies, Health Services Administration, and RN to BSN. Graduate
programs include a Master of Science in Human Resource Development
and Administration (M.S.); Master in Public Administration (MPA);
and Master in Science in Information Technology (M.S.). Classes
are scheduled in nine or ten week terms and are held evenings and
Saturdays. The RN to BSN and the MSIT programs are available on-line.
Students can also earn undergraduate credit for college level learning
acquired outside the classroom though work experience or community
service.
Barry University is also
providing custom training programs for corporations, non-profit
organizations, and government agencies throughout the entire state
of Florida. A wide range of additional graduate and undergraduate

Florida Atlantic University, the fifth public university
in Florida, offers a comprehensive array of undergraduate and graduate
programs, enrolling more than 26,000 students who reflect the rich
cultural diversity of the region. In addition to its original 850-acre
Boca Raton Campus, the University has campuses along more than 140
miles of Florida’s southeast coastline- in Dania Beach, Davie, Fort
Lauderdale, Jupiter and now two campuses along the Treasure Coast.
Building on rich tradition as a teaching university with world-class
faculty, FAU now offers more than 170 undergraduate, graduate and
doctoral degree programs. FAU has Eminent Scholar Chairs in many
academic disciplines and is home to nationally recognized research

FAU has served the Treasure
Coast since the 1970s, partnering with Indian River Community College
to extend educational opportunities that take students from an associate’s
degree through to undergraduate and graduate degrees. The Treasure
Coast campus now enrolls close to 3,000 students each year and offers
the upper division of over 20 degree programs in disciplines such
as nursing, education, business, criminal justice, computer science,
social sciences and arts & humanities. The FAU/Harbor Branch
Oceanographic Institution’s Marine Science Building is a new FAU
location on the Treasure Coast. The $11 million, 40,000 square-foot
facility houses marine research and education, was dedicated fall
’06 and is located at the HBOI campus in Ft. Pierce.
The innovative FAU Charter
Lab School for grades K-8, slated to open in 2008, in the Town of
Tradition, will further expand the University’s presence and commitment
to the area through partnership with the St. Lucie County School

Harbor Branch Oceanographic
Institute, located in St. Lucie County, is one of the world’s
leading not-for profit oceanographic research organizations dedicated
to exploring the earth’s oceans, estuaries and coastal regions for
the benefit of mankind. HBOI employs over 250 individuals and is
comprised of seven divisions that include: Aquaculture; Biomedical
Marine Research; Engineering R&D; Marine Operations; Marine
Science; Marine Mammal Research and Conservation; and Marine Education.

Indian River Community College is a comprehensive public
community college serving the educational, career training and cultural
needs of St. Lucie County and the surrounding area. Recently named
the Number One community college in the nation for the use of technology
to enhance learning, IRCC offers over 100 two-year degree and short-term
certificate programs to develop a highly-skilled workforce. Students
who earn an Associate in Arts degree are guaranteed transfer to
a Florida public university. Associate in Science degrees and Technical
Certificates provide students of all ages with occupational skills
for in-demand careers. These programs prepare employees in fields
essential to the community, including nursing, law enforcement,
information technology and business.
St. Lucie County is the home of IRCC's Main Campus in Fort Pierce
and the St. Lucie West Campus, a joint campus with Florida Atlantic
University providing opportunities for four-year degrees. The St.
Lucie West Campus also houses the Schreiber Conference Center for
business and community use. The Kight Center for Emerging Technologies
is the newest and largest building on the Main Campus and features
training in the latest technologies, such as manufacturing robotics
and internet security.
Plans are underway for the
Treasure Coast Public Safety Training Complex, a 50-acre multi-building
facility for training in criminal justice, fire science, and emergency
management. The IRCC Main Campus is also a site for a regional branch
of the Florida State University (FSU) College of Medicine.

the Corporate and Community Training Institute, Health Science Center,
Hallstrom Planetarium, Fine Arts Complex, WQCS 88.9 FM and Anne

Keiser University
is a private university offering bachelor degrees and associate
degrees in allied health, business, and computer technology fields.
Part of the Keiser Collegiate System which serves more than 9,000
students throughout Florida, Keiser College offers programs on campus,
and web-based on the Internet. Keiser has served Florida since 1977
and has campuses in Port St. Lucie, West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale,

The University of
Florida Indian River Research and Education Center in Fort
Pierce is part of the university’s statewide Institute of Food and
Agricultural Sciences, or IFAS. Founded in 1865, the University
of Florida was the state’s first land-grant university. Today, it
is Florida’s flagship university, celebrated as one of the nation’s
top four largest universities, known worldwide for distinguished
research, international extension programs and outstanding scholarly
accomplishments.
The UF/IFAS serves Florida
with agricultural and natural resources research, extension and
education programs, including each of the 67 county Extension Services,
14 Research and Education Centers, 4-H, Florida Sea Grant and the
College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. The UF Indian River Research
and Education Center in Fort Pierce, or IRREC’s mission is 1) to
conduct research to develop and disseminate new scientific knowledge
and technology on commercial citrus, vegetable, ornamental crops,
invasive plants, and aquaculture which will allow Florida agriculture
to remain efficient, economically competitive and compatible with
the environment, 2) to provide undergraduate and graduate student
training related to agriculture and natural resources. The University

Bachelor's degree programs in Agribusiness Management and in Environmental
Management are available to students with an Associate in Arts degree.
Master's degree programs include Agricultural Education and Communication,
Entomology, Environmental Horticulture, and Environmental Science.

Warner Southern College,
founded in 1968, is located five miles south of Lake Wales, Florida
at 13895 Highway 27. The college offers the Associate, Bachelor
and Master degrees. Students may choose from 27 bachelor’s degree
majors. Three Masters programs are designed for working professionals:
Master of Business Administration, Master of Arts Education and
Master of Science Management.
In addition to the main campus
in Lake Wales, Warner Southern offers courses online and at eight
off-site locations in Florida. Sites include the Orlando Learning
Center, the Space Coast Learning Center in Melbourne, Florida, and
teaching sites in Altamonte Springs, Titusville, Lakeland, Port
St. Lucie, Haines City and Wauchula.
Warner Southern maintained
its position as a Tier 3 school and continued to lead in Ethnic
Diversity ranking 9th in the South Region, according to U. S. News
and World Report’s America’s Best Colleges for 2007. Warner Southern’s
ranking for Least Debt upon Graduation, 5th in the south, means
more students leave WSC owing less for their education than students
in other colleges. Warner Southern’s rankings are found in the category
of Comprehensive Colleges – Bachelor’s in the South.
Warner Southern is a member
of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA)
Division 2 and Florida Sun Conference. Intercollegiate sports include:
baseball, basketball, cross-country, golf, softball, soccer, tennis,
track and field, and volleyball.
Warner Southern College
